El cáncer oral, sobre todo el, carcinoma oral de células escamosas (COCE), es la neoplasia maligna más común en la cavidad oral que se caracteriza por un mal pronóstico y una baja tasa de supervivencia, cuando se diagnostica en estadios avanzados. Puede ser tratado de forma efectiva si se detecta en estadios iniciales, mejorando el pronóstico.
